Marked spot, for some unknown reason. View to Munlochy Bay this evening.
Radio 4 was tuned it to for a lot of the day. There was a programme about "Choking," in the mental sense rather than physical, that described a phenomenon, or condition that I am only too well acquainted with. It's also probably related to why I choose to live such a hermit-like existence - thereby avoiding such embarrassments. That was followed by part one of a thoroughly confusing play – "The Castle" - "In Franz Kafka's mind-warping novel, set in a bureaucratic wonderland, the hapless land-surveyor known only as K answers a summons to work at the mysterious Castle, only to find himself drawn into a labyrinth of terror and absurdity." Years ago, I worked for four years as a trainee surveyor in Edinburgh - only after being pressurised to get a job that would use my qualifications. Had no idea what it really entailed. Liked the people. Hated the work. Eventually packed it in and became a Student at the College in Inverness... somewhere well away from pressure for some sort of "successful career". I'm not that type... in any respect. Will listen out for the second part of that play. Confusing as it was, I was kind of hooked.
