Icicle

Went hiking today, starting at Lake Louise. The weather was beautiful, but parts of the trail were frozen over and really slippery. Kind of scary with an expensive camera around your neck! Near the end of the trail was a (closed) teahouse where we used our lunch and cameras.

At 1/4000 sec, the droplets are frozen in mid-air, and you can actually see the whole world reflected in them if you look closely!

After I had cropped this I was really surprised to see that the crop led to a very nice composition. Not much other postprocessing was needed.
