Coast road without a coast

This is where the East meets Upper East on the coast road in Singapore, except there is no coast here.

There used to be many moons ago, but there has been so much land reclamation that the sea is a good kilometre or so away from here.

Amazingly, the land area of Singapore is 17% bigger than it used to be -- at some environmental cost I am sad to say.
