Poignant
Mullaghmore, Co Sligo was in the news this week as Prince Charles (accompanied by Camilla) visited the place where in 1979 Lord Louis Mountbatten, Dorothy Brabourne, Timothy Knatchbull & Paul Maxwell were blown up in a boat by the IRA. That visit all went well & hopefully helps to build on the Queen’s visit to Ireland in 2011.
I was in Mullaghmore, as a memorial walk had been organised by the family of a lady who had committed suicide last year, the views along the walk were stunning. Console & Grow were represented, green ribbons were handed out, by Michael, to encourage people to talk about mental health issues. The turnout was impressive & the rain held off until we had finished, hopefully it does some good & increases awareness, suicide has such a devastating effect & so many people seem to be effected by mental health issues it needs to no longer be taboo to talk about it.
Heading back to Donegal, there were 3 wild deer, the 1st time I've ever seen any in Donegal, but they were too quick & I didn't have my camera at the ready
