Like a fiery pearl in a dark bed of vapour, the Sun rises through cloud with sunspots the size of Earth faintly speckling the incandescent surface.

I took this through a combination of welder's filter and 10x50 binoculars as a test-run for capturing the Transit of Venus at sunrise tomorrow - Scottish weather permitting, of course.
