P&O

Peninsular and Oriental but I wasn't either when I took this.

This morning I was hanging with the students for the last tutorial of this academic year. Because that was in Canterbury I decided to head for the coast once we'd finished. Unfortunately it was a grey day and grey doesn't work wonderfully well in photographs of scenery so I didn't stop in Deal but headed to Dover.

Dover can be very photogenic but it needs better than grey and, just for a bit of excitement today, it was snarled up like a very snarly thing which is up. For some reason the police were checking HGVs entering town - just consider, for a moment, how many 40' trailers get dragged through Dover each and every day. Still - it's always good to see the sea and this weekend, the 75th anniversary of Operation Dynamo, it's especially good to be in this corner of the country.
