The Mourning Woman

New life from war's destruction proclaims man's immortality and hope for peace.

This inscription is engraved at the bottom of the statue.
This statue is placed at the Court of Honor near the entrance of the American Cemetery in Margraten.
At the Court of Honor you also find the "Walls of missing" with the names of 1722 missing persons.
The statue is a design from Joseph Kiselewski.
In the design you can find a number of elements which symbolize war and peace.
