Commemoration

We went up to Dalmeny Street to watch the parade assembling at the old Drill Hall before it moved off at 10:15, heading for Rosebank Cemetery. It was following the route of the funeral procession that took place on 24th May 1915. Then along with a couple of hundred Leithers we watched the service that took place at the Gretna memorial via a big screen in nearby Pilrig Park.

As the pipe band marched along Pilrig Street they acknowledged the old soldiers who were saluting them with lowered banners - British Legion and Parachute Regiment.
