There's the roof!

Health visitor yesterday - eye screening today. Nice chat with Julia who quickly confirmed he has no squint and his eyes react nicely - some toddlers can just look a bit squinty until their face shapes mature as they get older. However she then had him looking at pictured with first one eye and then the other (using blacked out glasses) and he declared quite a few to be 'egg' - apparently kids his age sometimes just get bored quickly and she may have just asked us to come back and repeat the screening in 6 months but she also used a strange camera device which somehow takes a photo of how your eyes focus and it seems his left eye is long sighted and hus right eye even more so (too much to register!) - so we're being referred to the eye clinic where they'll use eye drops to determine exactly how long sighted and probably prescribe glasses at about half the needed strength to start with so he doesn't just reject them as weird.

That apart (and Matthew quite enjoyed it) we had fun at the park, failed at a nap, watched a lot of Bing and Peppa and a bit of Chuggington and enjoyed watching Richard dismantle and remove our shed. Matthew was fascinated with going back in it as it gradually came down - but the first half of the roof coming off was definitely the best. Unexpected glorious sunshine too. Ideal for soaking yourself playing with water.

A few grumpy moments near teatime and a complete meltdown at bedtime - then zonked in 5 minutes flat once in his cot. Sweet dreams.
