Poorly

Weather really did it's best to be horrible. Rain, rain, rain. If I hadn't have washed it just last week, I would have donned my wooly bobble hat for the dog walk. Was however lucky that exactly for the time of the walk, the rain stopped and so only had to contend with the wind & cold.

As usual the chimney sweep turned up unannounced and caused me to dash around trying to clear away all the bits in the central heating room. He does both two of our three chimneys, one not being in use - one is the central heating wood pellet unit, the other the firewood burning sitting room tiled fire. In fact he turned up with reinforcements - his brother who has his area in Memmingen as well as the trainee. Due to the rain, they did everything from ground level, no risking walking on the roof but they were quickly finished.

Mr Dischl mentioned he was going to the "cinema" in Sontheim tonight for the "BIG" event. I had forgotten that in last weeks parish news, it was announced that Bavarian TV would be previewing a programme being broadcast on 4th June about the two villages in the parish - Sontheim and Attenhausen. Didn't bother looking for a Blip as I knew I would also be going and the "Cinema" in Sontheim would be  the days coup. (The hall in which the cinema takes place is also highlighted in the TV film)

Then lunch and with perfect timing, followed by a ghastly attack of  heartburn which laid me flat. Luckily Angie was home earlier than normal as the train strikes started again today. She had also been shopping on the way home and although having no knowledge of my dimise, she bought a box of "Brandt's Zwieback", rusk biscuits. The brand and it's logo is one of the best known in Germany, not much having changed since it's founding in 1912 - I think there have been four "Brandt children" used since the first one in 1929.

So the rusks made Blip, the cinema visit didn't take place. Thankfully by mid evening, Angie's nursing had worked and I was fit again.

If like me you want to see the programme it is here. 4th June 19:00 or 20:00 UK time (45 mins long). I think it will also appear in the "Mediathek" afterwards so can be seen at a later date/time.
