Can anyone help?

I like to identify plants when I put them on the journal but this one is causing me identification difficulties.  I'm sure it is fairly common, but my books and the internet are giving me too many options.

I managed to get up and out before sunrise though it was somewhat underwhelming and it was only when I started to clamber through the undergrowth that potential images presented themselves.  There are a couple of other images on my Flickr photos stream as well as some infrared from a walk on Cannock Chase later in the day.
