Hitching a ride

Today was a day of several disappointments: the landing trip to the Bass Rock which T and I were booked to go on tomorrow was cancelled because of wind, the cygnets at Blackford Pond were down another one to six, and the coot nest on the island seemed to have been abandoned. However, seeing this cygnet hitching a ride cheered me up a bit.
