Ffestiniogg railway
We took a trip on the Ffestiniogg railway from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniogg. The locomotive you can see here, which pulled the train, will be 150 years old in 2017. The railway was originally built to carry slate from the slate mines Blaenau Ffestiniogg to the port at Porthmadog. Being one of the wettest places in Wales, and indeed in the UK, the weather was not much good for photography.
I was sitting in the front of the "1st Class viewing carriage" (£6 supplement) and took this when the engine was being moved from what had been the front of the train going to Blaenau Ffestiniogg round to this end which then became the front for the return journey to Porthmadog.
