Mr Hummer

I certainly hope I am not driving everyone to distraction, but Mr. Hummer was so cute sitting on the shepherd's hook on the back deck late this afternoon.

I took countless photos (almost 300 in twenty minutes) to try to capture the wee bird's essence! He has gotten to the point that he no longer flies away when he spots me moving in the house beyond the French doors. And yes, I have to take these through the windows...

I liked this photo as the ruby-red is highly visible (He is a Ruby-Throated Hummingbird). This was no easy task considering the lack of sunshine!!! The good news is, it *did* stop raining momentarily, so he isn't totally scruffy looking!
