Sweet Auburn

Today, (on the recommendation of T. yesterday evening) we took a long, leisurely stroll through the amazingly beautiful and tranquil Mount Auburn Cemetery, on the border of Watertown and Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Seventy five acres of lush greenery, majestic trees, flowering shrubs and plants, and of course hundreds of gravestones -- many of them fabulously over the top Victorian examples, with draped urns, weeping angels, faithful hounds, and heartbreaking little lambs.

I found it uplifting to see so much life there, too -- people like us wandering around, enjoying the lovely weather and the peace, as well as several wild turkeys, and this handsome robin who was very pleased to pose prettily for me atop a stone obelisk.
