Odell Castle and Church from Daisy Bank

Odell Castle was an 11th-century castle. The original family lived here for some 400 years. The Castle was sold in 1633 but by then the castle was in ruins. A new residence was built incorporating the keep. Further alterations were made in the 18th century and stayed like this until 1931 when the manor burnt down.   A new manor house was built on the site in 1962 - only cropmarks and earthworks remain of the old castle.

All Saints church is a building of great historical value, dating from the fifteenth century and built in the perpendicular style. The records of the incumbents date back to 1220, suggesting that this was also the site of an earlier church.
