Macro Test

I'm deliberating at present - should I splash out on a Compact for convenience or stick with the DSLR / ancient (although reliable) Compact I already have?....But what about Bridge cameras? I just wish there wasn't SO MUCH CHOICE out there - that might make it easier to come to some sort of conclusion!
