Majorca Cathedral
A cloudy start to the day but the sun was shining the further south we got. A brief shower this evening and not sure what tomorrow will bring.
With the cloudy start to the day and the weather forecast wasn´t looking good for Alcudia for the day, we decided to hire a car for the day and head out touring. We rented a Mini Cooper convertible and headed for Palma, the largest city on the island. After tackling the traffic and on the wrong side of the road, we finally made it to the cathedral. After a walk about, we had a coffee and cake at a small cafe before heading on our way out of the city again. Up the road and headed for Sineu for a walk about and also lunch there, lovely peerie quiet market town, then on to Maria de la Salut, up to Santa Margalida for a walk around, a drive through Muro and on to Can Picafort. The farming scenery through the plains was stunning too and having the mountains as a lovely backdrop.
A quiet night ahead in the hotel but might try a beer or two :)
Majorca cathedral is utterly stunning. I walked all the way around just looking up to the amazing structure above me. Blessed in 1601 and after three centuries to bulid, is standing the test of time and a must see on the island here :) The stain glass windows are truly amazing too and this photo of the interior does not do it justice. Taken at Majorca Cathedral, Palma.
