Seeing the Wood from the Trees
Today, we did another workshop - this time one about Lost Woods of the Eastern Peak, which was all about uncovering traces of lost woodland. It was very interesting and one of those experiences that gets you thinking about familiar places in a new light.
The photo shows an area we visited on the moorland fringes where there are old trees - here, in particular Willow and Rowan which could be remnants of woodland which has largely disappeared.
It was another windy day, bur at least it stayed dry, and from this vantage point we had splendid views to the South in the clear conditions.
