Man's Only Friend

This is Fido of course, and I felt that he was my only friend this morning.  He was a really friendly fellow actually, though he might have benefited from a shower...

Well, today was one of these rare opportunities to combine work with real fun.  I had been invited to a full day of Land-Rover and Jaguar driving, including an off-road driving course.  This was to take place in a mountainous area two hours north of Barcelona.  I got up seriously early to finish some work before hitting the road, but spirits were high.

After a slightly longer and more complicated drive that expected (courtesy of the lady in my GPS) , I arrived at my destination.  I did find it odd that the Land Rover crew was not there already to prepare for the day, but I did arrive 10 minutes ahead of time.  It was also strange that no other participant had arrived...

After a while, a very friendly local host turned up, and said that he would contact the organizers. The event had been cancelled, and the chosen means of communication was an e-mail sent at 11pm on Monday, and not a phone call which would have bee a logical solution... (the organizers were not JLR by the way).

I really felt like biting someone, but my friend Fido, barked me out of it!
