Lan Su Chinese Garden

What a delightful day...a visit to the Lan Su Chinese Garden to celebrate the  birthday of a good friend!  It is my first visit and something I have wanted to see forever.  We had a lovely time...so many "windows" at every turn, a photographer's dream.  The gardens were designed to engage the senses, hearing the water, smelling the flowers, feeling the stone mosaic floors, touching the surfaces, and seeing beauty everywhere.  It is amazing to see what they have packed into one square city block in downtown Portland.  You feel like you are in 16th century China, but are then reminded you are indeed in an urban city when you see the high rise buildings in the distance surrounding this soothing spiritual spot.
