A day of surprises

We were waiting in this morning for various workmen to call.  There was a knock at the door and I opened it to find an old friend and 'boss' who I had worked with 25 years ago.  He hadn't changed a bit and we spend a happy time reminiscing.

The workmen arrived and left and then I went out with the camera.  The weather has been 'surprising' today  with brief spells of rain and even hail and sun.  I then came across these flowers growing along a footpath.  I imagine they have strayed from someones garden and look like very small delicate irises, or rather the leaf structure does.
