Crab Apples
Gosh ! This takes me back 60, yes SIXTY years.
As a boy I remember playing in a nearby field and climbing trees, as boys did before television and computers. My abiding memory is getting caught upside down by my clothes near the top of a crab apple tree. Bitter fruit indeed.
This Blip is the very same crab apples on our neighbours tree, which I discover is called nefle in France. Whilst they are impossible to eat raw in the UK, down here they are sweet and succulent.
Luckily our neighbour's tree overhangs our garden so we just help ourselves. And I don't even have to climb the tree !
