Rannerdale

The Fell in the background of this picture is Whiteless Pike which is a Wainwright that Jane and I set out to 'bag' today.

Unfortunately the weather turned very nasty with squally hailstorms and high wind so we modified our plans and stayed in Rannerdale where the sun later came out.

We thought the show isn't quite as spectacular as last year but is lovely nonetheless.

We had the usual Blippers squabble over who was going to post which picture but I eventually chose this long exposure shot as Jane didn't have a tripod :-)

Whiteless Pike will have to wait till another day

We had some discussion about the name which is called Rannerdale on the map but the NT sign spells it Rannadale.  I can't find anything on Google.
