WILD KONIK PONIES
Took the visitor, who is also a birder, to Blacktoft Sands near Goole. After a wait in a crowded hide we were lucky enough to see the pair of Montagu's Harriers. Also Marsh Harriers and lots of Avocets.
At the furthest hide were the wild Polish Konik ponies which are expert at grazing abandoned meadows back into a healthy state. They must have been having a day off as apart from one yawn none of them moved.
Today we found our first Geocache, completely by accident. Oh dear, not another hobby!
Yellow Wagtail was added to the birding list and then it was back home for more cooking and eating. I must make a note of what I cooked to refer to next visit.
Stilton stuffed chicken wrapped in bacon, Boulangere potatoes, asparagus and carrots.
