Lovage
I first thought, "that's the biggest flat leaf parsley I have ever seen". Then when I sniffed the leaves I thought it was celery. Chew them and you taste Madras curry with a splash of aniseed.
I had never seen Lovage before the weekend and what an intriguing herb it is.
With a surprisingly robust flavour I mixed some chopped leaves with blanched pea's and ate them with my chicken pie last night. Highly recommended (if you can ever find it).
