Merlyn
When I approached her in a cafe and asked for a photo, she said "Where do you want me? Shall lie down on the grass outside? The green will complement my hair." And so she did.
From her prone position, she told me about her work as a conceptual artist - specifically a social sculptor. It was fascinating stuff, but I wasn't familiar with the idea, so she illustrated it by telling me about one of her recent community exhibitions that involved getting eighty local women of all ages to create knitted version of their vaginas. I tried not to look perplexed, but she gave up and told me that she'd also been a finalist on MasterChef. I got that.
