Light in the woods

I like the way the light comes through the trees on this hillside by the Barrage des Olivettes where we went this morning so that C could have a swim in the lake before travelling back to London. This is how the Mediterranean hillsides would all have been before cultivation - covered with trees like these cork oaks (Quercus suber) (and there are some more recent ash branches in the foreground). E and S are still here so the house isn't too quiet yet and we had supper of tapas in the garden as the sun went down, so the holiday continues for another day or so yet!
