Domo Arigato

Karaoke; an import from Japan with a significantly less positive impact on society than Sony and Sushi. It's always made some sense to me that citizens in a society as regimented as Japan appears, might gravitate toward a controlled activity like Karaoke, when they want to get pissed and make fools of themselves. What has always surprised me is that, despite all of the other opportunities to achieve the same end results here in the U.S., there's a boatload of Karaoke devotees here too
