Blipmeet!
Today, we had the fun of meeting Memories4Me, who was traveling back from a visit to Plymouth Plantation to Maine, and stopped in on her way home for a visit in Boston.
We had a lovely time together, walking across Boston Common to the State House, where two of her illustrious ancestors are commemorated in statue form in the State House grounds. Here we are, in front of Quaker Mary Dyer, who was hanged for repeatedly defying the Puritans back in 1660. Poor lady ... she does look a little downcast.
We then strolled through Boston Public Garden, visited the wonderful bronze sculpture of Mrs. Mallard and her ducklings (one of which can be seen here, sporting a rather festive bonnet), and strolled around the lake with its Swan Boats plying the waters. This beautiful (real) swan was having a lovely time feeding under the willow trees there.
A celebratory birthday lunch (a day late!) at a French bistro, and then it was time to wave goodbye until the next meeting. Such fun! It was wonderful to meet this lovely lady whose journal I enjoy following!
