Aftermath of the Storm...
So Scotland has its fair share of bad weather. and we have pretty serious storms fairly frequently (100mph winds are not rare).
But Hurricane Bawbag was most definitely the storm of my lifetime!! I went walking near Balmaha six weeks after the storm (the same storm that claimed the tree in the very first picture I posted on here) and found carnage in Queen Elizabeth Forest Park.
The damage wasn't limited to Bawbag as we've had a run of severe storms both before and since, and every time there's a new storm, the already weakened forests shed more trees.
The next time I was up north following this hurricane I was actually shocked at the amount of damage I saw all over the country.
Bonus Fruin pic. Fruin wasn't my doggie, but my next door neighbour's. He was a wee gem, and I miss him loads.
