Today's the day ....................... to play football

If you look out the window and see this sort of activity taking place on the Green of an evening - it's a sure sign that summer is on the way.

Emerging from the depths of their winter hibernation, a motley crew of would-be footballers divide themselves into two teams - and hurl themselves about trying to get the ball through their makeshift goal posts.  I imagine that there might be a few aches and pains to suffer the next day!

But it's obvious how much they enjoy it - and it's a tradition that goes a long way back in the history of the town of Kendal.  Long may it continue ...........................
