Girlfriends

Recently I spotted a new sculpture - a modern-day piece of art - called 'Girlfriends'.

Its made by Tony van der Vorst and revealed in front of the Townhall in The Hague in 2014.

We see two modern muslim girls shopping while looking where to go on their iPad.

Even though there are many muslim girls in our multi culture society, it's really a rare sight to see them captured in an object of art, making this an innovative project reflecting the modern state of mind of the Dutch councils.

Ps. The low angle suggests a large statue, but in real life its approx one meter or three feet high.
