Bourne Festival
We travelled up to Bourne in Lincolnshire to visit an old friend of mine and his family. I first worked with Mick almost 12 years ago now. At the time we shared an interest in guitars (I was trying to learn, and Mick was starting out on building a few guitars). After the team we were working for went bust and we went our separate ways, but have kept in contact ever since, with regular meet up's, sharing stories and beers.
A few years back Mick too retirement and headed back to Bourne where he lives. We go up about once a year and catch up with him and his family. Mick has a grandson the same age as our son (bar a month or so) so Oliver and Dylan pair up and play together (usually quite well...) and we catch up on life.
This year our visit fell at the Jubilee weekend. Bourne has a regular festival, which they brought forward this year to coincide with the celebrations. We went along, with the kids looking forward to the fairground and Mick and I looking forward to their beer festival. Well, how wet was it? Damn wet! We didn't stay that long, and looking for photographic inspiration was not great, but there was some live music on. Due to the weather there was a rather poor turn out, which is a crying shame for all those that had worked so hard, so it wasn't hard to get to the front and get a reasonable picture.
