Goodbye

Over the last few days I've been having a bit of a clear out and have now accumulated a rather large pile of old teddies, dolls, books and toys.

I do feel sad to let go of these belongings, but it is time for us to part. They were doing nothing but sitting in boxes, unloved and unplayed with for years, so in a few weeks they will be going to new homes, with new children to play with them and love them.

They will be donated to the local primary school's summer fete; an annual event that is the schools biggest fundraiser of the year

The toys get played with again, the school raises money and I get rid of some clutter; everyone wins!

I had good fun playing with these toys when I was wee, so I'm sure that they will put some smiles on some wee faces soon.

I am sad to let them go, it's more or less closing the door on my childhood; but it's time to move on and start writing a new chapter, one that doesn't involve nursery rhymes, fairytales, stuffed animals and dolls

A few precious toys have been saved, they'll either hang about my room for a while longer or be put into storage. Each toy is special; but these ones are much loved, irreplaceable and have a special place in my heart. I hope to keep some of them for my children, should I have any in years to come.

I also managed to throw out some old clothes today, so that's even more stuff going out... They'll be nothing left by the time I'm done!

So it's goodbye to these toys and thank you for the memories.
