A Snack From Home

To those of you living outside the United States, the significance of this may be lost.

But for me? This is literally a taste of home.

This snack is from Kansas City Missouri. Any time you drove from my tiny hometown of Belton into the city, on the highway, you would pass by the bakery where this was made.

I can buy these at most grocery stores here in El Paso Texas, but the fact that they're from home is still both heartwarming and heartbreaking.

These were a part of my childhood. But back then they were in waxed paper packaging and not these nifty boxes they started using about two-ish years ago.
