Ths is a big, big "wow!!" Spectacular building.

This breathtakingly beautiful Liege Guillemans railway station was designed by the architect Santiago Calatrava and officially opened on 18 September 2009, with a show by Franco Dragone.
It has 9 tracks and 5 platforms and all the tracks around the station have been modernised to allow high speed arrival and departure. The most notable features of Belgian trains, compared with British ones, are that they are all very fast moving, move very very smoothly - just gliding along, with no bumps or swaying or rattling. What a difference!
They are also spotlessly clean, with clean and well maintained toilet and washing facilities.
The glorious building at Liege, the city where we spent a most interesting day, is made of steel, glass and white concrete. It includes a monumental arch, 160 metres long and 32 metres high and cost €312 million to build.
Difficult to capture it all in one picture, but I have done my best.
