Man Pier Island

We came third at the annual Weston-Super-Mare Brass Band Competition today. There were 6 bands in our section and we'd had just 5 rehearsals to prepare our chosen piece of music called Kingdom of Dragons by Phillip Harper. This is around half the number of rehearsals we'd normally have but due to other commitments it wasn't possible so we were pleased with the result.

I took the opportunity to wander along the front for a while though it was very breezy and rather cool for the time of year. The rebuilt pier is looking rather good after the original fell victim to a fire. In the background is Steep Holm, an uninhabited island in the Bristol Channel.
