The Things You See...........

SWMBO wanted to go and see about getting some accessories for tonight's shindig (more of that later) so I dropped her off and went for a wander to see if I could see a Kingfisher (having seen a flash of blue down by the river the other week).

I didn't see any signs of the blue but I did see this rather natty red settee.
It reminded me of the Red Couch series of pictures.
I have no idea why it was there or how it got there - it is nowhere near any houses, quite a way from the road and looks damned heavy and in surprisingly good condition.
It is just one of those strange things you come across when out and about - like the sculptures and the birthday wishes where you aren't sure if the 'artist' doesn't know how to spell or not.
Unfortunately the drowning trolley isn't such a strange sight these days.

Other strange sights were seen at the evening's shindig........ a 60's night at the golf club.
It was all aging hippies, not so aged hippies, flowers in the hair and Peace, man!" along with some fabulous boots thrown in -- not to mention great music and the best chicken in a basket I have ever had (SWMBO said the scampi in a basket was pretty damned good too).

The only downpoint was coming out into a very wet night with a temperature of 5C (without taking into account the wind chill factor) whilst wearing an outfit thinner than a sheet of tissue paper and even less of a thermal tog factor.
Jeez .......... Where is summer? - or even spring
