Here & There

Silhouettes

I had ridiculous ideas last night that I might get up early this morning and do some "night photography" before the sun came up. Needless to say I did nothing of the kind, and in fact it was a very lazy start to Sunday when I heard the rain on the roof.
We took D's regalia back and then a leisurely breakfast at the Good Earth Cafe, before getting on the road back north. Stopped for a while in Timaru and got to see D's school where he's teaching, and check out his new flat.
On the last leg to Christchurch I took some time to have a break just south of Ashburton, turning off onto a side road in search of irrigation systems and silhouettes of Mt Peel. I didn't need to go far. The sun was still a little high in the sky, but I still like the layers of cloud and the general patterns of horizontal lines.
