Peony

The end of a peony! This one had broken off in the wind and I had it in water on the kitchen windowsill until today when finally the petals turned brown and all that was left was the very center that you see here. I still think it is very beautiful. Peonies and irises are real standbys in Kansas at this time of the year.
Another showery day. Tomorrow we are off to our three grandddaughters' (triplets) high school graduation so my blip is going to be a very last minute affair. Hopefully I shall manage to get one in.
