Do not disturb

I was very surprised to see that a blackbird had made her nest at the top of a pipe and just a yard from where the builders had knocked/drilled/dynamited a whole through the wall to fit in the flue for the fire. She sat tight right through the mayhem. However, as soon as I try to have a quick peak through the bedroom window she takes off! So I have left the curtains closed. I think she's endured quite enough.

Just tried very carefully to take a snap this morning - but she spotted me and flew off. At least I got to see that her family is doing well.
As I'm off on the first boat in the morning she will be left alone once more.
