Oranges in the night
I've taken so many blue-sky sunny photos of Chania today, relived so many memories, posted so many Instagrams to share with those who share the memories that I was poised to post a chocolate box blip tonight, despite the mocking of newly-discovered fellow-blipper whose blip name I forgot to check before writing this ...
And then I saw the oranges, glowing in the artfully lit night garden of the Spilia Village hotel. They sum up what I feel about Crete this night: golden, sweet, totally unexpected in an unvisited corner of the garden, in a still, velvet night where nothing intervened between us and the stars.
A fitting gift for the old gods of this place?
