Busy bees

An at-home-day today & Michael-next-door came round to show me this great sight. This tidy little nest of bumblebees took up residence in a nesting box that was previously home to Blue Tits. Apparently, there are 250 different kinds of bumblebee in the world, 24 of these in the UK. They live in family groups of up to 400, quite small compared to the 50,000 in a honey bee nest.
