Woopee

Mr B and I paid £8 each for a good afternoon of entertainment at Jessops Academy Live. Firstly the talk was led by New Zealander Michael Wayne Plant who is a social documentary photographer. I feel a bit inhibited trying street photography so I'm hoping to apply some of his advice and be a bit more confident. The second talk and demo was by Damian McGillicuddy who has had a "long and colourful" career specialising in glamour and fashion. He's been in the industry 25 years and is the only photographer in the world who has been awarded a Grand Master Bar. His delivery was very funny but Michael's style of photography appeals to me more.
When we arrived at the lecture theatre we had our photographs taken and at the end of the afternoon the photos were played on screen at speed and stopped randomly for the person whose face appeared to win a Sony 6000, and you may have guessed by my shot, my husband won it. It seems to be about £500 of kit. Michael Wayne Plant is a Sony Advocate photographer so he awarded the prize to Mr B. We haven't got it yet but we're quite excited about winning it. Afterwards we went for a lovely Italian meal before heading home by train.
