Triumph

'Nuther Saturday , 'nuther auto jumble... Scorton, North Yorkshire - not that I think you'd be interested. Me neither really - but wait - this story has a happy ending
I was implored - yes implored, ( dragged away from the blues music shack that is on the same site) - to come and please take some photos of something. E left his camera at home.
This was the something - seemingly imported from America.
What can I tell you - a bike - referred to by E as a '650 Thunderbird TR6/ US 6T, dating from around 1970.... forgive me, I glaze over when he talks numbers!
£3,500 or nearest offer
I had to remind E what he tells me all the time - 'It's not what you buy it's what you build.'
But while he was drooling... a guy on the other side of the same bike pipes up "Thinking of buying, Ernie?'
E of course is on his own planet bike at this point in the proceedings.
The stranger is undeterred, he asks again, 'Thinking of buying, Ernie?'
Finally E hears and his eyes regain focus on the real world when he recognises the owner of the voice (not the bike) as a bloke he worked with 30 years ago and hasn't seen since.
A grand reunion conversation followed - swapping of numbers, stories, promises to visit etc.
Old friend has 5 motorbikes.
Sigh.
We're going to Scotland next weekend - a cottage - art and books and photography and coast.
No bikes.
No sheds.
I figure it's about my turn.
