Goreme Cappadoccia

This is the tourist town specialising in cave living. Ours is very comfy and the steep steps are balanced by the magnificent views and private balcony. Just found out this was once a monastery, and our room at the top was the pigeon room. There are 27 pigeon holes and they were kept for the eggs to make egg tempera for painting the plaster etc.
Hope it's fine for our sunrise balloon ride tomorrow.

On the biblical front this was the Caesarea. Where many early Christians took refuge. The airport is Kayseri.
