Solace of the Wind Sculpture, Wellington

Had a lovely day in Wellington, Enjoying a long walk along the sea front past the defiant Solace of the Wind Sculpture, then wandering around the wonderful Te Papa, seeing the wonderful Air New Zealand Exhibition, and an exhibition about the Ngāti Toa tribe that was eventually settled along the Kapiti Coast and Kapiti Island.
Enjoyed a meal at the cosy and quaint Boulcott Bistro before going to hear Lala sing Edith Piaf - Lala hereself french speaking, was so good, so emotionally engaged and so expressive.

"A Wellington favourite, Max Patte's Solace of the Wind (2008) leans north into the harbour's harsh gales while displaying its own inner tranquility.
"This city and its elements have been the inspiration for this work the location where the sculpture will reside is significant for me. It represents a time and place where I have felt so much. Wellington is truly a unique place to live."
