Cork Floats

Gardening was the order of the day today. This morning various small preparation jobs were done in the back garden for veg and flowers which will be planted out soon. There was digging. The veg and flowers have been transferred from greenhouse to cold frames to 'harden off' for a few days. A few plants were potted up to grow on in the greenhouse for an early harvest. This afternoon the back lawns were mowed and thankfully the short showers of this morning didn't reappear.

At the back of the beach at Westhaven, during our walk, Maeve the Deerhound and I had the place to ourselves. No one was around at all. It seemed an ideal opportunity to poke around and peer even more closely at things :-)

On our way home I checked to see if the little painted stones from yesterday were still out on the shelf in front of the cottage. They were ... hooray! My donation is in the jar and the little blue 'hedgehog' is sitting on the small bookshelf unit beside me :-)
