In the teeth of a gale
Westerly winds are likely to gust to around 70-75mph at times during Friday afternoon and Friday evening across Shetland and northern parts of Orkney, accompanied by some wintry squally showers. During Friday evening the winds are expected to veer northwesterly and decrease. The public are advised to take extra care.
